The Neuroscience and Power of Feminine Leadership

Neurocoach Keshawn Hughes presents “The Neuroscience and Power of Feminine Leadership” - Purdue Women’s Conference 2022, Indianapolis, Indiana

I had an incredible opportunity to present “The Neuroscience and Power of Feminine Leadership” at the 2022 Purdue Women’s Conference! I happily served as one of 25 select speakers united by a common desire to motivate and uplift other women dedicated to advancing their lives, both personally and professionally.

We met at the beautiful, art-inspired Alexander Hotel in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. As I looked around the room before my session, I was delighted to see that every seat was filled, eyes sparkled, and conversation buzzed with anticipation.

I opened with the question, “What comes to mind when you think about feminine leadership?” Several people shared vulnerable and reflective responses which fueled a rich hour of deep and dynamic dialogue. We explored self-leadership together, from the inside out, as I prompted participants to think about how they showed up as leaders. I felt honored to provide neuroscience-infused insights about transformative leadership characteristics. My intention was for each person to walk away with brain-friendly solutions to their challenges and feel empowered and prepared to lead in the best, most authentic, and healthiest ways possible. I think it happened because the feedback I received was absolutely phenomenal!

“Keshawn was a speaker at the Purdue Women’s Conference. She presented a dynamic and informative workshop on the remarkable power of feminine leadership. Attendees walked away armed with practical and relevant data to take charge of their careers and lives. She truly made a difference in the lives of those women she met at the conference. She was a true professional and a joy to have at our conference.” - Leslie Fernung, Director of Lifelong Learning Purdue for Life Foundation

Coming together with friends, supporters, and alumni of Purdue felt wonderful. For myself and many others, it was the first time we’d attended a conference of that size and purpose since 2019 (pre-pandemic). Wonderful connections and friendships were made, deepened and restored.

I’m thankful for The Purdue for Life Foundation and the Purdue Women’s Network for organizing the event and inviting me to share. The experience we created together was remarkable!
